Located in San Frediano, a suggestive area in the very heart of Florence, it is just 10 minutes’walk from the greatest art galleries and museums. It can be reached either by car (it is just outside the ZTL area, “Limited Traffic Area”) or, if you prefer, by bus or taxi which are available and easy to get, particularly if you need to go to Piazzale Michelangelo and to visit the great exhibitions of the Fortezza. 

Cars can be parked nearby and with a little extra charge ( the central area is not reserved for parking, as it is allowed only to residents). Its really strategical position, the quietness of a comfortable and refined lodging help to make the B&B 1900 Artevita a perfect starting point to get to know Florence. 

 

 

 As you get to the exit of Firenze Certosa motorway, you have to follow the road indications for the town centre. Leaving the beautiful convent of “Certosa of Galluzzo” on your left, a road sign will show you the entrance in Florence. Once you get to the crossroads of the “Due strade” you will have to drive along via del Gelsomino and then the avenue of Poggio Imperiale in order to get to Porta Romana square.

This square can be easily noticed thanks to the ancient doors and walls of the old town of Florence. Drive along half of the round square and then keep going straight on for about 2 minutes driving along different avenues whose names progressively are: viale Petrarca, viale Aleardi and viale Raffaello Sanzio.

Remember: they may look like one only avenue! At the end of the last one, on the corner with piazza Pier Vettori you will find B&B 1900 Artevita.


   If you are travelling by train, we suggest to catch bus n° 12 at the central railway station of Santa Maria Novella. It will only take you 5-7 minutes to get to our B&B. Just in case, you can ask the bus driver for the right stop.

 If you are travelling by air we suggest you to catch bus n°55 which is a shuttle bus (Volainbus) going to and coming from Florence airport. Volainbus takes you to the central Railway Station without intermediate stops. The cost of the ticket is 4,50 euros and you can either buy it on the bus or at the Ataf ticket office in Piazza della Stazione ( Station square). Florence airport Amerigo Vespucci is only 5 km away from the town centre and a taxi service is always available. Taxi rates are the following:

- from the airport to the town centre it is about 15/20 euros
- from Pisa Airport to Florence it is about 100 euros.
