Prices shown are per person or per room?

The prices you find on the web site are NOT per person. The rate is for the room per night.

Do I have to pay a deposit when I book?

Upon booking you will be asked a deposit.
You can use your credit card number to guarantee the reservation. A pre-authorization will be done on your credit card.
You can also send a deposit or pay the total amount of your stay with PayPal from our website. For this type of payment an additional fee of 4% will be added. Before carrying out the payment, wait for our approval.
The balance of your stay is to be paid at check-in time.
If you book online through our web site booking with your credit card, we will test with a pre-authorization , normally the amount of the first night or 30% of the total stay.
If you book a PRE-PAID / NON REFUNDABLE rate the total amount of your stay will be charged on your credit card.

What is a Credit card Pre-authorisation?

When you make a reservation, there may be instances where the hotel will contact your credit (or debit) card company to confirm that the card you are using is valid and has not been reported loss or stolen. At this time, they may also check to see if the card has enough money to cover the transaction. This is communicated in the form of a pre-authorisation of the full amount of your reservation.
The hotel, however, will not proceed with the charge. The time at which your card will be charged will depend on the terms and conditions linked to your booking.
Pre-authorisations are common but are often confused with actual charges. While in-store purchases are immediately charged and deducted from your available balance, pre-authorisations are temporary holds. The length of the hold will vary, and your credit card company can advise how they handle this.

Is there any air conditioning or heating?

Yes, there is air conditioning in summer and central heating in winter.

How many stars does your hotel?

Bed & Breakfast 1900 Artevita are not part of the hotel category.
They are private residences which provide breakfast and accommodation at reasonable prices. They are more competitive than hotels and are therefore not subject to any classification.

Can I connect to the Internet?

In all the rooms of our Bed & Breakfast 1900 Artevita you will find free WiFi, just ask the password at the check-in desk.

Are town maps and information normally provided?

Upon arrival we will show you a map of the town where we will highlight the main monuments, squares, neighbourhoods and buildings to see. We normally recommend a special tour around Florence to enjoy our magic town at its best.
Restaurants, taverns, souvenir and pastry shops and other places where to buy typical Tuscan products are also recommended.

The Bed & Breakfast 1900 Artevita is accessible to the disabled persons?

Our Bed & Breakfast 1900 Artevita is located on the second floor with no lift, so it is hardly accessible to disabled persons.

Can I temporarily leave my luggage on the day of departure?

Of course, if it is possible we will be happy to keep your luggage in custody on the day of departure for some hours.

Is there any timetable for the return?

No, there is not! At the moment of check-in you will be given the keys of your room and of the main door so as to feel independent.

Where can I park my car?

To park your car you have two options within 500 mt:
1) Public parking at a discounted price, 24 hours € 10 instead of € 18 (place in the public street on the blue lines) with our special card to be requested at the time of booking.
On Sundays and public holidays parking is free.
WE DO NOT HAVE PARKING PLACES RESERVED FOR THE GUESTS.
2) A garage parking (200 mt) costs € 18 per day (only for our guests).

Are there sheets, blankets and towels?

Bed linen and towels are provided and included in the room price.
In order to minimize the costs and to help everyone to a lower environmental impact, we does not provide a daily change of bed linen and towels, if not necessary.
Extra change of bed linen and towels is € 5,00 per person.
Only towels € 3,00 per person.

What should I bring?

How far is the centre?

Our Bed & Breakfast 1900 Artevita is 500 metres from Porta San Frediano, one of the most authentic areas of the old town, known for its craft shops and popular meeting night points with its many cafés, restaurants and pizzerias.
Walking through the historical “Lungarni” you will arrive in about 15 minutes at the Pitti Palace and its beautiful Boboli Gardens. Soon after you will be at the Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery museum.
A few steps away you will find Del Carmine Square and Santo Spirito area as well as the Comunale Theatre, the Leopolda Station, the Cascine Park and the American Consulate.
The Fortezza da Basso, open for trade shows and events like Pitti Uomo, is located at 1500 metres.
The main railway station of Santa Maria Novella is about 15/20 minutes’ walk or 5 minutes if you prefer a bus or a taxi.

May I bring my dog?

Only small pets are allowed provided that they are not left alone in the room. In case, full equipment necessary for the assistance animal is requested.

Please ask by email or on the phone if is possible to have with you a dog, before your check-in.

Can I smoke in the room?

All our rooms are non-smoking places. You are allowed to smoke only on the terrace of the rooms that are equipped with.

I have got a child who is less than 6, is he to pay?

Children under 6 sharing the king size bed with parents are free of charge (a special offer is limited to one child per family per room).

How can I cancel my reservation?

Terms of cancellation
Giving us your credit card number, you agree to the Cancellation Policy.

Base Rate
It’s possible the cancellation without any fee charged, If you send a cancellation by fax or by e-mail at least 3 days before date of arrival.
If you send a cancellation with less than 3 days notice or No Show without cancellation, we are going to charge the full amount of your reservation.
In case of late arrival and/or early departure on the dates booked, the customer shall pay equally the total nights booked.

Prepaid rate
The total amount of your stay, will be taken from your credit card.
In the event of cancellation or No-Show, the amount withdrawn will not be refunded.
Not combinable with other offers.
